The Five Pillars of Islam
All devoted Muslims must follow the Five Pillars of Islam. They include: the sincere dedication to the religion and faith called Shahadah, praying five times a day called Salah, giving great charitable care to those who are in destitution called Zakat, fasting during the month of the holy holiday Ramadan in which is called Sawm, and finally, making the journey on a pilgrimage to Makkah (Mecca) at least once in a lifetime called Hajj.

Islamic Diet
The Islamic diet is rather close to that of the Jewish food diet. For Muslims, unlawful food is called "haram". Lawful food is known as "halal." Pork meat and seafood are haram, or unlawful. Blood-drained meat is halal. The blood from meat must be fully drained before a Muslim can dine. Only herbivorous animals, meaning animals eat only plants, such as goat, duck and deer are allowed to be eaten.

Childbirth
"When a child is born, the first thing he or she should hear is the Muslim call to prayer." (typesofreligion.com, 2012). Exactly seven days after a child is born, "the child's head must be shaved as a sign that the child serves God." (typesofreligion.com, 2012).
