Importance of Prayer

"The second pillar requires all Islam's to pray (Salat) 5 times a day at fixed times." (quran-m.com). The prayers must be said in the morning, afternoon, midafternoon, evening, and night. This is to assure that Allah is always in their minds. By praying, Muslims are able to show their gratitude and worship. But before Muslims pray, they are instructed to wash their face, hands and feet so they are fit to communicate with Allah.

"Each prayer is performed facing toward the Kaba in Mecca. Salat is intended to focus and communicate with God" (quran-m.com), also to have personal time with God. Even though prayer is required there are some flexibilities when there is a case of traveling, sickness or lack of space.
